It’s time for the 23rd edition of the ‘Chinese Bridge’ Chinese Speaking Competition 2024 – The Dutch finals!
The Chinese Bridge Competition is an international Chinese speaking contest that serves as a platform for cultural and educational interaction. It provides talented students with the opportunity to demonstrate their language proficiency and gain confidence in their speaking abilities. It is an event for Chinese language students to exchange and share their learning experiences. It also serves as a stepping stone towards academic and/or career goals.

During the 3-day language and culture weekend, you can improve your Chinese and work on your speaking skills. The 3 days are filled with various language workshops, cultural and sports activities, and enjoyable moments where we engage in this experience together with the support of our native coaches. We can reveal one thing: There will be a hotpot/bbq evening!
Not only will you be well-prepared for the competition, but you will also meet new people, experience new things, and learn more about Chinese culture.

Who can participate?
- You are a student in the Netherlands, aged between 18-30 years old,
- and you do not have a Chinese upbringing or Mandarin Chinese as your native language.
- You were not the first winner of the Chinese Bridge last year (2023).
Important to know
- To confirm your attendance, we ask for a one-time fee of 30 euros.
- The costs of accommodation, breakfast, lunch, dinner, activities, and workshops will be covered by us.
- During the weekend, there will be an informal talent show where students can showcase their talents. Your performance should be related to Chinese culture. Think, for example, of: calligraphy, painting, music, dance, theater, poetry, sports, etc. Be creative!
- Preparatory videos are required, which will be presented to the jury and ranked accordingly. Instructions for uploading videos will be sent after registration.
