According to the latest regulation from the Chinese Testing International Center, starting January 2025, for participants taking the HSK 3 to 6 exams, it is mandatory to also take the HSKK oral exam. The HSKK exam is automatically included when you sign up for the HSK exam.

To register for an HSK exam, you must first register online at www.chinesetest.cn. After you have completed your registration there, you can buy and pay for your HSK exam using the button below.

What does the HSK test entail?

The HSK exam is designed to test your Chinese proficiency in reading, writing, and listening. Questions will be multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, or other similar formats. The length of the test depends on the level, 35 minutes for HSK1, 50 minutes for HSK2, 1h25m for HSK3, 1h40m for HSK4, 2 hours for HSK5, and 2h15m for HSK6.

What does the HSKK test entail?

The HSK Speaking Test (HSKK) assesses a candidate’s oral proficiency in Chinese. The test is divided into three levels: primary (beginner), intermediate, and advanced. The HSK Speaking Test is conducted in the form of an audio recording, where candidates speak their answers using a computer and microphone. These recordings are then evaluated by examiners.

Will the exam include only characters?

HSK 1 & 2 exams include pinyin. From HSK 3 onwards the test is entirely in characters.

How do I know what level to take?

If you are following one of our courses, we recommend you to take the test corresponding with your course level. If you are not a student at CIM, you can find practice exams to gauge your proficiency level here.

What are the benefits of taking the HSK test?

When will I get my results?

Results will be available on the Chinese test platform approximately 1 month after the exam date.

How will I get my certificate?

After the exam results are published the HSK certificates will be sent to our institute from The Chinese test center. As soon as we receive them we will contact you and you can either collect your certificate at our office in Maastricht or we can send it to you by post with an additional fee.

How do I register for the exam?

I want to reschedule my exam date, is that possible?

It is possible to reschedule your exam date, depending on the number of days before the exam:

• Up to and including 27 days before the exam: You can reschedule the exam date free of charge.
• From 27 days up to and including 10 days before the exam: During this period, you can reschedule your exam date, but a rescheduling fee of 30% of the exam fee will apply.
• Within 10 days before the exam (excluding the 10th day): Rescheduling requests will no longer be accepted.

I want to cancel my exam, is that possible?

It is possible to cancel your exam, depending on the number of days before the exam:

• Up to and including 27 days before the exam: You can cancel your exam and request a full refund of the exam fee.
• From 27 days up to and including 10 days before the exam: During this period, you can cancel your exam and receive a 50% refund of the exam fee.
• Within 10 days before the exam (excluding the 10th day): Cancellation is no longer possible.

Is the HSK Exam included in my course fee?

The HSK exam fee is seperate from your HSK course and is not included in the course fee.
