What can you expect from the new HSK 2 (Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì Èr)?
New Standard
Closely aligned with the HSK 3.0 Level 2 syllabus, the New HSK Course 2 is designed for learners who have completed approximately 30–36 hours of Chinese study, mastered around 300 Chinese words, and are preparing to take the HSK Level 2 exam. It covers 45 language points, including core grammar and high-frequency expressions for everyday communication., helping learners move from basic expressions to more flexible and practical use of Chinese.
New Content
The course adopts a mini-drama format to design communicative scenarios and tasks, organizing its content through a series of situational drama units. Set in both overseas and Chinese contexts, the storylines revolve around several main characters, presenting not only the campus life and personal growth of Chinese learners, but also the everyday life, study, and work of Chinese people.
New Design
With a clear modular structure, each lesson highlights key components:
Objectives – Warm-up – Text – Mini Language Workshop – Xiaoyu’s Easter Eggs – Learning Summary. The design supports both classroom-based instruction and flexible self-paced learning, making it easier for learners to review, consolidate, and apply what they have learned.
Starting from the Autumn Semester 2026, the Confucius Institute Maastricht (CIM) will offer the New HSK 2 Chinese Course, continuing its transition into the HSK 3.0 era. This course is suitable for learners who have completed NEW HSK 1 or have already acquired basic Chinese communication skills.
Study Duration
18 lessons of 2 hours each. In addition, 54 hours of self-study are recommended. This course is intended for students who have completed HSK 1 or already have a basic knowledge of the Chinese language. All aspects of the language are covered: listening, reading, speaking, and writing.

Language of Instruction
This course is taught by one of our experienced native teachers from our partner university in China. The course will be conducted in Chinese/English.

Important Information
Each course requires a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 15 participants. If a course cannot start, we will inform you in time and refund your course fee.
HSK Exam
