Course Introduction
Advanced 1B Online offers a flexible and engaging way to continue your Chinese learning and complete the second half of the HSK Level 4 course. With live online classes, students can learn from anywhere while saving travel time and studying in a comfortable environment. The course is interactive and practice-oriented, combining topic discussions, situational dialogues, reading practice, language expression activities, and classroom communication. Students actively engage with the teacher and classmates and receive personalized feedback to improve accuracy, fluency, and confidence.
This course is designed for learners who have completed Advanced 1A or have already studied the first half of HSK Level 4. Building on the foundation of Advanced 1A, Advanced 1B Online further develops students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The course focuses on expanding vocabulary, strengthening grammar accuracy, understanding longer and more complex Chinese materials, and using more advanced sentence structures to express ideas and opinions more clearly.
The course also supports students in communicating more effectively in a wider range of familiar and semi-formal contexts, including daily life, study, work, travel, culture, and personal experiences. By the end of the course, students are expected to understand longer conversations and written texts, discuss familiar topics with greater confidence, express personal views more clearly, and reach a level comparable to HSK Level 4.
Study Duration
15 lessons of 1 hour and 45mins each. In addition, 45 hours of self-study are recommended. This course is intended for students who have completed HSK 4A and already have a strong command of the Chinese language.

Language of Instruction
This course is taught by one of our experienced native teachers from our partner university in China. The course will be conducted in Chinese/English.
Study Materials
The study materials for the Advanced 1B Online are included in the course fee.
Important Information
This course requires a minimum of 5 students and has a maximum of 10 students. If the course cannot start due to insufficient enrollment or other reasons, registered students will be informed in good time and the course fee will be refunded.
HSK Exam
After completing both Advanced 1A and Advanced 1B, you can register for the HSK 4 exam. For more information about the HSK exams, click here.
Important Update for HSK Exam Candidates!
Starting January 2025, in accordance with the latest guidelines from the Chinese Proficiency Test Center (Chinese Testing International), all candidates taking HSK Levels 3 to 6 must also take the HSKK spoken Chinese test. The HSKK score will be automatically included in the overall HSK results.
