YCT stands for Youth Chinese Test, an internationally standardized Chinese language proficiency test. It assesses how well young learners can use Chinese in everyday situations and educational settings. The goal of YCT is to boost learners’ confidence and improve their language skills through interactive and playful lessons.

- Your child will be introduced to the basics of Mandarin Chinese, including pinyin (phonetics) and Chinese character writing.

- Course Duration: February 11, 2026 – July 8, 2026
- Class Time: Wednesdays, 14:00 – 15:30
- Location: CIM | Brusselseweg 150, Maastricht

- February: 11, 25
- March: 4, 11, 18, 25
- April: 1, 8, 15, 22
- May: 6, 13, 20, 27
- June: 3, 10, 17, 24
- July: 1, 8
Course duration
The course consists of 20 lessons of 1.5 hours, including:
- 2 cultural activities
- 1 mock exam
A self-study commitment of 30 hours is strongly recommended. This course is designed for children aged 7 to 10 with basic or no prior knowledge of Chinese. All core language skills are covered: listening, reading, speaking, and writing.
Language of Instruction
The course is taught by one of our experienced teachers. Depending on the group composition, the course will be conducted in:
- Chinese/Dutch or
- Chinese/English

All textbooks for the YCT Beginner course are included in the course fee.
Important Information
- Minimum number of participants: 5 students
- Maximum number of participants: 15 students
If the course cannot proceed, you will be notified in time and receive a full refund of the course fee.
