What can you expect from HSK 4B (Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì Sì Xià Cè)?
HSK 4B is a deeper dive into the Chinese language. Each chapter introduces more new vocabulary and grammar. The focus shifts toward reading Chinese characters and discussing topics covered in the textbook.
During HSK 4B, your vocabulary and grammar will be expanded, and you’ll be able to hold more fluent conversations in Chinese.

Study Duration
HSK 4B consists of 20 lessons per semester, each lasting 2 hours. In addition, 60 hours of self-study are recommended. This course is intended for students who have completed HSK 4A and already have a strong command of the Chinese language. The course covers all aspects of the language: listening, reading, speaking, and writing.

Language of Instruction
This course is taught by one of our experienced teachers. Depending on the group composition, the course will be conducted in Chinese/Dutch or Chinese/English.

The study materials for HSK 4B are included in the course fee.
Important Information
Each course requires a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 15 participants. If a course cannot start, we will inform you in time and refund your course fee.
HSK Exam
After completing both semesters—HSK 4A and 4B—you can register for the HSK 4 exam. For more information about the HSK exams, click here.
Important Update for HSK Exam Candidates!
Starting January 2025, according to the latest guidelines from the Chinese Proficiency Test Center (Chinese Testing International), all candidates for HSK levels 3 through 6 must also take the HSKK (spoken Chinese) test. The HSKK score will be automatically included in the overall HSK result.
