Watch the Dutch final of the 19th International Chinese Speech Contest LIVE Online!

Join the audience! Next week, the Dutch final of the 19th International Chinese Speech Contest will be held as the first-ever Online Chinese Speaking Contest in the Netherlands! This event is going to air LIVE on the 8th of May at 13:00 (GMT +1 Amsterdam).

We are thrilled to announce this year’s 9 contestants from Groningen, Leiden, Amsterdam, Delft and Maastricht who will showcase their Mandarin proficiency skills and Chinese-themed talents to you.

CIM will broadcast the contest via live stream for audience viewing, with English subtitles for non-Chinese speakers. This way, you can support your friends or family members, and even practice your own Chinese by listening to the talented contestants.

One World, One Family

What can you expect? During the contest, the contestants will perform the following competition parts:

  • A speech on a self-chosen topic around the theme One World, One Family and a brief introduction of themselves in Chinese.
  • A Q&A round: Contestants answer one question about society, daily life or their worldviews.
  • A talent demonstration: Contestants demonstrate one of their talents relating to Chinese culture, such as Chinese calligraphy, poetry reciting, singing, martial arts, paper cutting, mask painting, etc.


There are some great prizes to win! The first prize will be a One semester scholarship in China and the opportunity to participate in the international speech final in China*! Furthermore the top 3 candidates will win a unique internship in a well-known international organization or company.
