Happy Birthday CIM!

To celebrate its 3rd birthday, CIM hosted a small outdoor dinner celebration for its colleagues, students, partners, and friends. In observing the Dutch RIVM guidelines, the event was hosted at the picturesque Chateau Bethlehem, part of the Hotel Management School of Zuyd University of Applied Sciences.

The birthday menu? A vibrant fusion of Dutch and Chinese culture: dishes included traditional Dutch herring with onions and an amazing sesame noodle salad. Fresh vegetables, meat, and seafood were grilled on the spot-on outdoor barbecues by the hotel school’s chefs to roasted perfection. For dessert there were birthday sparklers, birthday songs, and a selection of sweet treats to celebrate the festive occasion.

In addition to the delicious meal, attendees also enjoyed presentations on exciting things going on at CIM. The 2nd prize winner of the May 8th International Chinese Speech Contest, Adam Bootes, shared his experiences participating in the online competition with the audience, as well as an English version of his inspiring speech. Several months ago, CIM teamed up with the research team of Hogeschool Zuyd  to look at what factors are important for project managers working in China. Researchers Omar and Manon presented preliminary findings from their work—be on the lookout for the final results later this year!

After a challenging few months for the world, getting together for a celebration and looking back at the school year this was the perfect closure and a great kick off to the summer! Happy birthday CIM- here’s to many more!
