Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, kicks off on February 16th, marking the start of the Year of the Dog. It is China’s most important traditional festival, and we would like to invite you to celebrate it with us.
On Thursday 22nd of February the theme will be “Culture”. We will start off at 15:00 with a short introduction about the origins and traditions of the Spring Festival, followed by two workshops: “Fu 福 ” Calligraphy and Paper Cutting until 17:00.
On Friday the 23rd of February the events are split up into two parts. The first half, from 12:00 to 14:30, will be dedicated to Chinese Cuisine. After an introduction about the culinary traditions revolving around the Spring Festival, you can give it a try yourself during the dumpling workshop! You will learn how to make traditional Chinese dumplings, and of course you can taste them right away afterwards.
During the second half from 15:30 to 18:00 join us for a fun Culture quiz and traditional festival games. Get in the festival mood and learn Chinese tongue twisters and riddles!
On Saturday the 24th of February from 11:00 to 14:00 we will conclude our Chinese New Year Festival with a day filled with fun activities for the whole family. Of course all of our Saturday School students are more than welcome to join!
