15 Mar Confucius Institute celebrates Carnaval in Maastricht!
Already two weeks ago, but we are still enjoying the happy memories we have of celebrating carnival in Maastricht. For us as Confucius Institute Maastricht, our participation in the Parade on Sunday, March 3 was a unique experience! The participants (students and staff) absolutely enjoyed every second of it.
Govenor Theo Bovens: “As a true Carnival lover, I am very happy to see that the Confucius Institute joined us at the carnival parade in Maastricht. It contributes to a mutual understanding and interest in each others culture and traditions. We as ‘Limburgers’ prefer to share our thoughts in a indirect way, with jokes and laughs. For that reason Carnaval is a great way to form a tolerant and happy society.”
Our mission is to support and engage the knowledge of Chinese language and culture for kids, students and professionals in the region. By being actively involved in the most important event in Limburg, Carnaval, we experienced a very positive interaction with local people. We were very proud to show a small part of our Chinese culture during the parade and the audience was very enthusiastic.
